Zelda TotK: How to Unlock and Complete the Zakusu Shrine
The Zakusu Shrine at Mount Lanayru is hidden at first, but TotK players can complete a challenge to make it reveal itself.
While some of the Shrines in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are out in plain sight for players to enter, there are others that are hidden, and will only reveal themselves once gamers complete a certain challenge. The Zakusu Shrine is one of those, and players can use this guide to learn how to unlock it and how to complete it to gather yet another Light of Blessing to increase Link's stamina/health.
Before players can complete the Zakusu Shrine, they'll need to unlock it first. TotK fans should head to the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower on the east side of Hyrule, just south of Zora's Domain and north of Hateno Village. Launch Link into the sky to enter the South Lanayru Sky Archipelago and immediately head south/southeast to find an island with a pool of water shaped in a circle, as seen in the image below.
The island in question has these coordinates: 3966, -1540, 1119.

Once players land on the island, they'll notice a semi-circle-shaped altar that has the Ultrahand symbol on it that's also glowing green. Interact with it using the A button and a green ring will appear toward the end of the island. Once players enter the ring, this will start a little mini-game in which Link will need to follow the green light and enter all the rings while sliding down the mountain. In order to do this, players can use one of their shields and surf with it.
Shield surfing in Tears of the Kingdom can be done by pressing the following buttons simultaneously: Parry (ZL) + Jump (X) + A.
Make it through the rings and then the Zakusu Shrine will reveal itself at the coordinates: 3532, -1482, 0167.
Like the other 'Proving Grounds' shrines in Tears of the Kingdom, Zakusu will test players' strengths without using their precious armor and weapons. Link will begin the shrine without any equipment and will need to take down every enemy Construct in the room. Since there are no puzzles in this room to really solve, players can use these tips to get the upper hand on the Constructs and to get around the room easily.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available for the Nintendo Switch.
