Outcast 2

Summer is a time in gaming when we hear about the games releasing in the next year or so. As a result, showcases are widespread, and almost every publisher holds events to reveal its new titles. One such upcoming event is the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase 2022 from an Australian publisher, THQ Nordic.

The company is revealing some of its brand new games in this showcase. One of these is the new SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake, based on the Nickelodeon television show. Purple Lamp Studios is also working on the game, and players are excited as it also developed SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated.

Among the numerous other games in the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase 2022 is Outcast 2 – A New Beginning, a sequel to the 2017 remake. As of recent, release dates for both of these titles are officially unknown and will probably become official at the showcase. However, a recent leak from a couple of retailers has given us the release date much earlier.

Some retailers have listed Outcast 2 – A New Beginning and SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake on their websites with an unofficial release date. Most of the time, these vendors don't get the wrong information, so these might be the actual releases. With the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase 2022 just around the corner, players think this is perfect timing.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake will allegedly be released on January 24th, 2023. Retailers, Cultura and ShopTo, have both listed the game under this release date on their websites. You can even go on there and see for yourself, so the characters’ new adventure may arrive early next year.

Outcast 2: A New Beginning has also appeared on both of these websites. Cultura and ShopTo also list the game's release date even though it is not public as of yet. Apparently, the sequel will release on March 28, 2023, almost six years after the last game.

Outcast 2 – A New Beginning will be a sequel to Outcast: Second Contact, which is the remake of a 1999 action game. Hence, the game certainly has a lot of lore backing it up. Appel, the creator of the original game, is developing the sequel, and it will release on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X| S.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake will release on the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows. Therefore, it is going totally old-school with its release. Hopefully, the games do release on these dates, as players really can't wait to get their hands on them.
