Happy Saturday - it's a bit of a strange one weather-wise. So far today we've seen plenty of showers but it's remained fairly warm despite the grey look.

The clouds will stay over Cork throughout the day, but if you're heading out make sure your rain jacket is a light one as it's going to stay hot with temperatures floating around 22C mark.

Met Eireann say spot floods are possible today, with 13mm of rain recorded in parts of the county overnight.

There could even be some thunderstorms before it'll dry out later in the evening.

They said: "Today will be warm and humid. Scattered showers, some heavy or possibly thundery with the chance of spot flooding. Rather cloudy with some spells of hazy sunshine. Highest temperatures of 19 to 22 degrees, in a light to moderate southeasterly breeze.

"Very mild and muggy tonight. A few showers will continue overnight, but many places will be dry. A mix of cloud and clear spells at first, before some mist and fog forms overnight. Temperatures will not fall below 14 to 16 degrees, with light southeasterly winds.

"Quite cloudy to start with lingering mist or fog slowly clearing. Warm sunny spells will develop as the day progresses. There will also be scattered slow moving showers, with heavy falls possible locally later. Humid, with highest temperatures of 20 to 23 degrees with a light southerly breeze."
