It is not often that collectible classic chairs look as comfortable as this lounge chair, which why this Erik Ole Jorgensen design is one of our favourite pieces from the auction. Inspired predominantly by materials and the same nine colours, Jorgensen created simple, covetable and uncluttered designs that are known for being effortlessly elegant. This Lounge Chair, with its sculptural metal frame and beautifully two-tone suede texture makes it more of a statement Scandinavian piece in comparison to others on display, but that is why it is thoroughly rewarding of its $3,000 price tag.

Many things get described as ‘modern classics’ in today's world but nothing is quite as deserving of the title as the Grasshopper Floor Lamp. Designed by Greta Magnusson Grossman, a Swedish born designer who was one of the first ever females to graduate from the famous Stockholm Konstfak School of Industrial Design, the tubular steel tripod lamp is both organic and modern, fulfilling a need of the time for lightness and functionality. The versatile design also shows Magnusson's modernism influences and it displays the impact of architecture and furniture on the Californian landscape.

But if you're looking for something a little bit more special, then this pair of Bengt Ruda lounge chairs is just the thing; and they have both benefitted from a recent upholstery which offers a beautiful contrast to the wonderfully aged wooden surfaces.
