Wayne County Reading Under Lights is back for summer of literary fun
WOOSTER − Reading Under the Lights is back again in six area school districts to encourage reading development during the summer months.
The United Way of Wayne and Holmes Counties are partnering with the Wayne County Public Library to reduce the impact of the "summer slide," according to a United Way press release.
Grants:United Way allocates $1.3 million in grants to nearly 30 nonprofit organizations
The "summer slide" is a term used to describe a decline in reading comprehension over the summer between the school years, the release explains.
Reading Under the Lights provides free books of the student's choosing.
