Munster GAA has sent out a warning to Cork and Limerick hurling fans ahead of the sides' big game this weekend.

Over 40,000 people are expected in the Gaelic Grounds this weekend and the stakes are high.

In the other game Tipp take on Waterford in Semple Stadium - should the Premier win then they'll cement their place in the Munster Final against Clare.

Should Waterford win then there's an opportunity for the winner of Cork v Limerick to nab the provincial final spot. Should Tipp v Waterford end in a draw then a win for Cork would be enough for the final but there'd be a few more permutations at play for Limerick as they'd have to win by more than 4 points to overtake Tipp on score difference in that scenario.

But that situation is unlikely according to the bookies who have Tipperary strong favourites to beat the Deise.

If they do that then it's very straight forward for both Cork and Limerick - Cork need a win or a draw to take at least 3rd and go into the All-Ireland Championship quarters. Limerick need to win to overtake Cork on the table.

So in short, no matter what happens in the other game - whoever loses the game will be dumped out of the championship and that's their year over.

With the season on the line a passionate crowd is expected in Limerick for it, and in anticipation of that Munster GAA have sent out a warning to fans.

Their message is - no smoke bombs, no flares, if you break these rules then the stewards and security will eject you from the stadium and you could be subject to criminal prosecution.

Operations Manager John Brennan said: "These devices are extremely dangerous, particularly when used in a confined space, such as a terrace with thousands of fellow supporters present.

"Flares can burn at a very high temperature and present a serious safety risk to those holding them and to those in the general vicinity, especially young children.

"Smoke bombs also burn at high temperatures and can be dangerous for those with asthma or breathing difficulties.

"Munster GAA ask that the small number of supporters who do bring these items to our games refrain from doing so."
